The tools we had

I recently switch from zsh to fish, from iterm to kitty and from many programming language version managers to mise. That's right, finally I left nvm.

I installed again an RSS reader. I got a better email client and updated my nvim configuration files. Although I still have so many things to configure.

I still use Mac and MacOS but I want to go back to Linux as soon as possible. I'm giving myself time to learn about git fzf and jq among others.

I want to learn everything I can about these tools, specially git because the things I know are not that useful for team work. Now I use git add -p, git switch, and git restore. Also I'm practicing new vi/vim/nvim commands daily because I want to be more proefficient.

But there are a lot of languages and tools that have always caught my attention like grep, awk, sed, perl and now I have the motivation to learn them and love them.

And then I realize that the tools we had, and still have are good enough to complete any task and do the job. We don't need new shiny tools that doesn't let us finish our jobs. We need to master what we have.

But we never learned any of these at least not until it's to late and mostly because someone told us or share its benefits and we saw them. And I suppose we have to speak more about them.
